8 40.3 A N ORDINANCE relating to the amendment of the Scott C ounty Ordinance governing dogs in Scott County, Kentucky: A RTICLE I E nacting Clause, Title and Purpose 1 .1 ENACTING CLAUSE B e it ordained by the Fiscal Court of the County S cott, Commonwealth of Kentucky. 1 .2 TITLE T his ordinance is entitled “Amendment to the County D og Ordinance, Scott County, Kentucky —- Changes.” C ertified copies of this ordinance are on file w ith the Scott County Clerk. 1 .3 PURPOSE T he purpose of this Ordinance is for the control o f unidentifiable, unlicensed or unwanted dogs, t he abatement of a public nuisance and the promotion o f the general welfare through the establishment o f these dog regulations in Scott County, Kentucky. T his amendment to the ordinance by eliminating s tray or unlicensed roaming dogs will protect t he health, safety and property of t he residents of Scott County, Kentucky. A RTICLE II G eneral Regulations 2 .1 DEFINITIONS ( 1) “Unidentifiable dog” — shall be defined as a dog, male or female, that does not bear visible i dentification such as a tattoo or identification t ag, as stated in KRS 258. ( 2) “Unlicensed dog” — shall be defined as a dog, m ale or female, that does not bear a valid license a s required by law and have same affixed t o a collar as prescribed by KRS 258.145. ( 3) “Unwanted dog” — shall be defined as a dog, m ale or female, that is unidentifiable, unlicensed a nd found outside of the owner’s or keeper’s c onfines.
