150.4 SCOTT COUNTY FISCAL COURT ORDINANCE NO. 13-05 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A CEMETER Y BOARD FOR SCOTT COUNTY, KENTUCKY WHEREAS, Kentucky Revised Statute Chapter 67.680, authorizes a county to establish a local cemetery board; and WHEREAS, the SCOTT COUNTY FISCAL COURT now desires to create such a board for purposes of restoring and maintaining non-profit cemeteries that do not receive perpetual care funds pursuant to KRS 367.952; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE SCOTT COUNTY FISCAL COUR T AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: The Scott County Cemetery Board is hereby established and shall meet a minimum three (3) times annually in a location provided by the Court. The Board shall be comprised of five (5) volunteer members with no more than three (3) representing the same political party. Members shall be appointed by the County Judge/Executive with approval of the Fiscal Court, shall have lived in the County for at least one (1) year prior to appointment, and shall have demonstrated an interest in cemetery preservation, genealogy , local history, or a related area. SECTION 2: Per 109 KAR 4:020, the appointment term of each board member shall be four (4) years, except for initial appointment terms. Initial appointment terms shall be as follows: Two (2) members shall be appointed to a one (1) year term; two (2) members shall be appointed to two (2) year terms; and one (1) member shall be appointed to a three (3) year term. SECTION 3: There shall be no compensation for services of board members. SECTION 4: The Scott County Cemetery Board shall have all of the powers and authorities as described in KRS 67.680 and 109 KAR 4:020. SECTION 5: This Ordinance shall take ef fect upon passage and publication.
