340.6 SCOTT FISCAL COURT ORDINANCE NO. 06-03 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE PROHIBITION OF SMOKING WITHIN THE SCOTT COUNTY COURTHOUSE THE SCOTT COUNTY JUSTICE BUILDING, AND THE SCOTT COUNTY A TT ORNEY OFFICE KRS 61.165 ET SEQ, WHEREAS , numerous studies have found that tobacco smoke is a major contribution to indoor air pollution and the Public Health Service's National Toxicology Program (NTP) has listed second-hand smoke as a known carcinogen and that employees who work in a smoke-filled business place suf fer an increased risk of heart attack and death from cardiovascular disease and cancer and that smoking of tobacco is a form of air pollution; and WHEREAS , the Scott County Fiscal Court adopts the foregoing as justification for this Ordinance, the purpose of which is: 1. To protect the public health and welfare by prohibiting smoking within the Scott County Courthouse, the Scott County Justice Building and the Scott County Attorney Of fice. 2. To guarantee the right of non-smokers to breathe smoke-free air . NOW , THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE SCOTT COUNTY FISCAL COURT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: Definition. Scott County Courthouse means that certain building, consisting of 3 floors and a basement, located on the north/west corner of Main and Broadway in Georgetown, Kentucky . Scott County Justice Building means that certain building, consisting of 3 floors (no basement), located on the west side of North Hamilton Street, known as 119 North Hamilton Street, Georgetown, Kentucky . (There is excluded from the Justice Building the Jail facility wł ch fronts on Court Street).
